Leadership EQ 201: Coaching


Research studies demonstrate that humans vibrate at varying frequencies when operating from different emotional states. The lowest reported human vibratory frequency being 'Shame' and the highest 'Peace' or 'Enlightenment'.

This vibration analysis reveals that the emotion of 'Courage' represents a pivot or "tipping point" between expanding and contracting states of emotional consciousness.

Moving down from 'Courage' the emotion of 'Pride' begins to contract into the unpleasant emotions of what we call the "Prime Six". These emotions are 'Anger', 'Disgust', 'Fear', 'Sadness', 'Hopeless Despair' and finally 'Shame'.

On the other hand, the emotion of 'Trust' begins to expand into higher frequencies such as 'Love' and 'Joy'.

Developing emotional intelligence and agility creates the capacity to move from contracting frequencies of the Prime Six into expanding frequencies of 'Joy' and subsequently 'Peace'. This is where leaders and coaches can develop EQ-based tools to conversationally shift—themselves and others—from 'Pride' to 'Trust', using the emotion of 'Courage'.

2 Types of Trauma

Leadership EQ 201 will teach that there are two types of trauma that create emotional blocks and triggers preventing our maturity and growth. Type A trauma and Type B trauma. Most are familiar with Type B trauma which occurs when "bad" things happen. Type A trauma stands for "absence" of what we need. Type A trauma can occur from low joy environments which can be just as damaging as Type B trauma. Both types of trauma stunt our EQ Brain Circuits at the first stage.

Trauma acts very much like an emotional bungee cord that tethers current reality to our emotional pasts. At first, there is enough slack in the tether that trauma triggers are unnoticed. But when we desire growth and breakthrough, these tethers snap us back to the origin of trauma.

The Mask that BEEPS

We cope with emotional trauma by creating masks. This mask is a version of self that we create to cover our vulnerability. For example our professional titles and positions of power can be masks. Typically these masks are based in the emotion of pride. Further, these masks lead us to coping patterns in an effort to manufacture "false joy." These patterns are:

  • Behaviours
  • Experiences
  • Events
  • People
  • Substances

Whereas true authentic joy is always proceeded by the emotion pf peace, which is a "cozy sense all is right in the world," the joy that comes from BEEPS lacks it.

Regulation & Resilience

After 101, module 201 provides the framework to manage vibratory frequencies and help others regulate emotions and develop psychological resilience. Using emotional intelligence, individuals will be able to process emotional triggers that prevent complete development of the EQ circuit along with emotional and relational maturity skills. It is here that clients can recognize and change the mask that BEEPS.

Using 'EQTunement' and 'SOAr', the trainer or coach will quickly be able to identify at which stage the EQ circuit is "stuck" and create breakthroughs by moving the conversation from lower contracting vibratory frequencies to the higher expanding emotions. A powerful benefit of this method is that clients begin to coach themselves and resolve issues on their own. The result is increased emotional brain capacity for optimized performance.
